Chapter 2512 - Fiendish Head

Gladeus looked completely pink no matter from which angle it was viewed. It was the brightest star in the entire void of visible outer space. The pink ether-class nova source world was ten thousand times the size of Violetglory, giving it a substantial presence in the astralscape. But when one approached it, one would not see a peaceful haven, but a hell of storms. Endless twisters and winds stirred all across the netherclouds, as if they were the eyes of the world itself.

Each eye was actually a stormy concentration of hellstar reaper sword condensate, all of them staring at the large expeditionary force coldly. Before a world of this magnitude, even a large army like that looked insignificant. Even then, it was still a large fleet formed by an infinitum-class ship and fifty ether-class ships. Such a force was among the most powerful fleets in the entire Infinitum Mundus and boasted immense destructive potential!

The ebon expeditionary force took out their biggest guns to use against Gladeus and Lin Xiaodao, which were more than enough for him to boast about for a few lifetimes. A normal etherean who killed the tenth rex mundi and started a conflict in an ether-class world against the de facto most powerful faction deserved nothing less. Yet, with his glory also came the consequences, the price for which everyone else would have to pay.

Most people didn't expect the second rex mundi and his infintium-class ship, Ebonfiend, to be deployed alongside so many either-class crafts. It was a sign that they were confident enough to be able to defend their home base even after sending out such a large force, as well as a firm statement of their goal to wipe out the troublemaking Lin Xiaodao for good. Lin Xiaodao was an enemy they had never expected to make. Nobody understood why or how this figure suddenly showed up and caused the ebons so much loss, nor did most of them understand his motives, not even the ones in the expeditionary force. All they knew was that once the Ebonfiend went all out, the Tenth Branch of the Swordgod Lin Clan would be completely wiped out.

"Today, we ebons show our dominance. After this grand battle, even Yi Daiyan and her goons will have to quake in fear of us!"

"They'll come to understand who the true rulers of the Infinitum Mundus are!"

"The Infinitum Bodhimanda has always belonged to us since its founding!"

Everyone in the expeditionary army looked at the pink world like a piece of meat to be conquered.

"That nova source world is so girly! Haha!"

"I'm sure our Ebonfiend will easily tear apart its defensive formation and make it submit."

"Thanks to Lin Xiaodao, we have the pretext to conquer a distant world and make it into our overworld base!"

The millions of astral gods with the fleet were filled with all sorts of expectations.

"I didn't think I could get on board the Ebonfiend in my lifetime and go to war!"

"This is the only infinitum-class divine astralship in the Infinitum Mundus. Lin Xiaodao should be honored that it was deployed to deal with him."

"Since those cowards dared to challenge the might of us ebons, we'll slaughter them all and make an example of it! People will know to fear us once we're done!"

"Hey, if you're too rough from the start, you'll scare that white-haired female monkey in Ebonia away."

"White-haired monkey? Hahaha!"

Their laughter was only drowned out once the miniature nova source of the Ebonfiend began surging. Its energy source was a hundred thousand times the size of the stellunar source of the Divine Moon Realm. As its energy flowed into all parts of the ship's formation to fuel it, the ebons were so moved that they couldn't find words to express their awe. The Ebonfiend was easily the most precious of their legacies and their greatest pride and joy!

The ship's surface was covered in countless black chains that resembled those of Ebonia, but were much denser. Within each chain link were countless blood-colored lightning bolts, making them look like bloodshot eyes. Those chaotic black chains were almost like hair, while the Ebonfiend itself looked like a human head much like the Divine Sun Palace, though it was a hundred times more massive and powerful. The hairy head was entirely black and had a pair of blood-red eyes with a large, gaping mouth. There were many dark green boils on the face, each one letting out black miasma, which made the head even harder to see on the backdrop of outer space. The bestial fangs within its mouth gave it an even more brutish air. Such a gigantic divine astralship could probably destroy astralguard and fusion formations of heliacal-class worlds with a single bite!

Seeing the partly shrouded form of the gigantic ship from the netherclouds reminded Tianming of the time when he was still a disciple of the Xuanyuan Dragon Clan. It was the same fright he had felt when faced with the Divine Sun Palace. He didn't have the Ninedragon Imperial Tomb back then and was just as helpless before it.

Fortunately, he was much better prepared compared to back then. Coupled with the monstrous First Aeonic Ancestral Star, the pressure he felt wasn't as large.

The Ebonfiend appeared in the sky of Gladeus like an ancient primordial deity. Even a gigantic beast like Lan Huang looked like a flea before its huge mouth and eyes. Most people couldn't stop themselves from panicking with such a horror hovering above their heads. It looked as if it was going to make a short snack out of Gladeus. The fifty ether-class astralships around it looked like a swarm of bats, waiting to pounce.

Right as Tianming came out, the Ebonfiend launched its attack! The formation of the other ships was centered around it, all of them charging up their formations and glowing brightly. The Ebonfiend's radiance illuminated a good part of Gladeus, though that wasn't quite the right word as its black light had a blinding effect instead. Tianming noticed darkness slowly seep into his vision, blocking out even the pink netherclouds above. The attack was too swift and fierce! If Gladeus didn't hold, the whole Swordgod Lin Clan would be doomed, let alone him.
