A wave of black-red energy flew out of the Goblin King's mouth in every direction. The group naturally covered their ears to block the loud roar. Black-red energy swirled around the Boss.
'It's buffing it but it's also…'
[Notice: 3/6 allies have been afflicted by Fear.]
Keng turned to notice Liz, Manny and Ritsuka were hit with fear. He cursed under his breath as the Boss locked eyes with the pesky Fox barely holding his own.
'Runic Blink.' Keng flashed from his spot as the greataxe slammed against the ground. Smoke billowed outwards as Keng appeared besides Olivia.
"What's happening to them?" Olivia asked. "Why are they running away?" Manny, Liz and Ritsuka had turned and ran towards the bloody door. Liz was panicking the hardest and drawing the Boss's attention.
"They're feared." Keng told her. "Unless we have a way to get them out of it, we're on our own."
"Come here you little pesky humans!" The Goblin King roared. He ran over, swinging the greataxe straight for the three under his Warcry's effect.
"Kinetic Rush!" Evan shot himself straight at the Boss without much thought. The kinetic energy he had built up in his shield released into the back of the Boss, forcing him to stumble forwards as the three fearful members screamed for their lives. Olivia spun around, giving Keng Hydrsophere as she linked her index and thumbs together.
"Paralyzation Shock!" The screeching wave connected with the Boss. The Boss grunted as his body seized up. Keng twirled the long Hydrosphere, shifting it back into a dagger as he rushed forward.
"Silver Sun. Runeweaver: Gravity Slash, Energy Leech, Vampirism, Gravitum: Meteor Rush." Keng spoke the Runes into existence.
[Would you like to save these Runeweaver options as a rune?]
Keng's body exploded with cosmic starlight. He jumped into the air, runes binding into one as he threw the blade.
"Save it as Gravitum: Falling Meteor." Keng ordered.
[Saving…]
"Runic Blink." Keng chanted. He flashed forward, grabbing the blade as he landed on the ground. He slid, facing the Boss as more runes swished to life in front of him. Keng pierced the runes, releasing a blast of gravity. The Boss flew backwards, arcing over Evan as Evan rushed over to Keng.
"W-whoa!" Evan shouted. Keng threw one of his daggers towards Olivia, marking it with Runic Blink.
"Protect these three." Keng told Evan. He flew past Evan and jumped into the air. His torso turned left as his left arm moved backwards, readying the attack.
"Gravitum: Falling Meteor!" The flash of the complicated rune on the blade ignited as Keng released it. A rush of energy flew outwards, cracking the armor as Paralyzation Shock released. Olivia gasped as she threw her hands up. A bright rush of energy swirled around Hydrosphere as a huge meteor fell onto the Boss.
"Runic Blink." Keng whispered. He appeared next to Olivia, grabbing the dagger and wrapping his tails around her and him. "Shield times six." Six cosmic shields wrapped around them as the whole entire room shook. The room crumbled to pieces as Olivia screamed.
"Kinetic Sphere!" A sphere wrapped around Evan and his fleeing friends. They begged him to let him go as he pulled the sphere tight. "Argh! Is he really just a C-ranker?" Evan questioned. "He certainly doesn't feel like one!"
"Ahhh! Help!" A woman screamed.
'Dammit, I forgot about the VIP!' Keng thought. 'Seer!' A Solarium spell Keng had already used.
[Would you like to use Solarium: Dance of the Fire Fox?]
'Do it!' Keng shouted. A burst of fire energy rushed out of Keng's tail.
[Seer is now transferring itself into the Fox…]
A loud howl erupted as a huge Fire Fox flew upwards. Rocks spilled as dead humans were crushed underneath the destruction.
[Solarium: Dance of Protection, Cosmic Barrier, and Gravity Bubble have been used by Seer.]
It was quiet after a long while. Olivia squeezed her eyes shut as she hugged Keng tightly. Keng's mind raced with questions. 'Did the Seer do it? Did they save the VIP? Did they save the other humans? Was Evan and the others okay?' He hadn't thought too much of the impact his runeweaving would have. He was starting to curse himself when the Seer spoke to him.
[Would you like me to create a way out?]
'Seer!' Keng exclaimed. 'Did you save them?!?'
[Your power is plentiful. Of course, I saved them. Shall I pick up everyone else and find a way out of this place?]
'Please!'
The noise of rocks exploding to dust as a hot energy rushed towrads Olivia and Keng.
"W-what's that?" Olivia asked. "Is the Boss not dead?"
"Seer, is the boss dead?" Keng asked. The Seer stopped in its place, tails engulfed in cosmic flame. Four humans were inside its large tails as the Fire Fox turned its head to look.
[I am unsure.]
"G-guys!" Evan nervously exclaimed. "I-I can't move! T-the orb! IT-it's going to—"
"Seer!" Keng shouted.
[On it.] The Seer turned and dusted the rocks in its path, heading towards the bloody doors. A glowing barrier was flickering. Evan grunted as blood spilled from his nostrils.
"I… I can't hold it anymo—" Evan's arms dropped with the spell. He collapsed as his fearful allies snapped out of it.
"Evan!" Ritsuka shouted.
"Ah!" Liz pointed at the large flaming Fox.
"Do not worry, friends of Lee Seng." Seer verbally spoke. It encased the group in its flames, pulling them inside its body as rocks spilled on it. It dusted the rocks with ease as a calmness washed over them. "Everything will be fine."
"Argh!" The Goblin King roared as rocks flew in every direction. The Seer turned, watching rocks fly at it. It didn't flinch like the humans within it. They screamed as they watched rocks turn to dust. A small cocoon of Silver light was off to the Seer's left. Keng's tail whipped at the rocks, unraveling him and Olivia as the rocks crumbled to small pieces.
"You think you can kill me with such a puny skill?!?" The Boss rose, dusting its bloody self. The hole in its chest was deep and spilling with blood. The boss picked up his greataxe and held himself up with it. "You… Will never kill me!"
"Boss has reached the 'Death Threshold.' It's special ability: Dungeon Boss Killer is activating." The comms chirped. The Boss's wounds started to heal. It's armor cracked and spilled revealing scars.
"You want to know how I killed the previous ruler?" The Goblin King asked. "Unrivaled Rage.."
"The Boss is activating its special move." The Seer announced. "What would you like me to do?"
"Let me out." Manny shouted. Keng glanced over at the Seer's stomach. Manny, Liz and Ritsuka were all standing while Evan was struggling to stand. The SEer turned its head to look at Keng. Keng nodded and Manny, Liz and Ritsuka dropped below the Seer. "We'll do this together. I don't… Want to rely on you so much… Don't you have to find Lee Seng?"
"Mmm." Olivia agreed. Keng looked at her. "You should save your effort for him. This one's ours." The group took a step forward as Keng watched them.
"I'll take its attention." Manny told them. "I'll distract it while you guy find a way to get some hits in."
"Sir." The Seer spoke to Keng. "What should I do?"
"Help them." Keng waved. "Make sure they don't die." The Seer bowed its head as Keng joined everyone else to look at the Goblin King. It's body was scarred with burns and slashes. "The ant must've done that."
"Olivia!" Manny shouted running forward.
"Already on it." Olivia put her hands together and took a breath. The space around her began to distort. Rocks and dust rose, creating a ring around her as she created a small opening between her hands. Her eyes opened, releasing a blast of energy straight at the Goblin King. The Goblin King deflected chuckling as Manny pulled a card out.
"What's that?" Keng asked.
"A Weapon card." Ritsuka told him. "That one must be a new weapon. He hasn't used it before." Ritsuka ran after Manny. Angerfang appearing in his hands. The card exploded releasing the weapon within. A pair of tonfas appeared. Each arm held one as Manny's energy wrapped around it.
"You think you can beat me! Ha, you puny humans don't know when to quit!" The Goblin King roared. A gust of wind pushing against Manny and Ritsuka as they continued their advance. The Goblin King's greataxe rose in the air as he grabbed it with both of his hands and swung straight for Manny.
"Paralyze." Olivia whispered. A strange feeling washed over the Goblin King, holding him for a split second. "Dismantle: Flow." The energy pouring out of the Goblin King suddenly stopped. All the buffs he did have were suddenly gone.
"What the—" The Goblin King began to say when a red energy flew straight for the Boss. Angerfang hissed as Manny jumped.
"Expand!" Manny shouted. The tonfas grew in size as Manny swung downwards. "Take this!"
