Chapter 994 994 Decisions

The Giant Envoy spoke up as an official message came in from the Central Government.

"We have permission to send the volunteers from the Valkia and the Innu on the condition that the human forces accompany them as an escort." He informed the room.

Nico nodded in agreement. "That shouldn't be an issue. I think that we will be able to come up with an appropriate escort for their force within the next seventy-two hours. I am still working on the exact details of the composition, but I can assure you that the force will be more than sufficient to meet the guidelines for an escort into a military conflict zone."

Where they would get the materials wouldn't be an issue either, as all of the Klem population was reported to have disappeared. Without their interference, they could take Absolution to the former Klem territory and use one of the asteroid belts there to build up as much of a military force as they needed.

Keeping a huge force of Androids and drones under control was going to be a bit of a hassle, but they would come up with something, even if it were a command AI somewhat like Felicity, who was placed in charge of the Android force.

With one Colony ship full of attack drones in various configurations and ten Destroyers full of Android Mecha Regiments, they would have firepower well in excess of the thousand Titan Class Mecha that had already begun the trip.

The Androids weren't up to the standard for piloting a Titan Class Mecha, and while they could just send them out in the huge units, it would be more cost and time-effective to give them Heavy or Super Heavy units instead and then arm them for battle in both layers with the most powerful armaments that they could.

They didn't need to hold back against something called the Great Enemy if the Darklings thought that it would take every other species in the universe to keep them at bay.

It was a dream come true for Nico, and her Drone Controller skill would help her keep the ship Commanders in line instead of directly controlling the individual Drones.

The final result would be similar but without all the mental strain on her end.

The Giant Envoy cleared his throat. "Do we have preliminary numbers so that I can assure the Central Government that you are taking the escort duty seriously?"

"About a hundred thousand Heavy and Super Heavy Mecha, plus a Colony Ship class vessel full of Drones. Nico and I will accompany the force personally to make sure that nothing goes wrong with the tactical planning." Max informed him while Nico did a silent happy dance in her chair.

"So, that means we will be repositioning Absolution for the duration of the construction?" The Innu ambassador asked.

"That is correct. It won't affect the day-to-day operation of the vessel at all, but if someone was planning to use the ship as a waypoint along their travels, we will no longer be in Alliance territory, so they will have to find an alternate Portal location for their journey.

We will also be suspending most travel to and from the ship for the duration of the construction to prevent industrial espionage and any hostile forces from taking advantage of the crew's distraction." Max agreed.

"That sounds reasonable. I will inform the Central Government of the security measures that will be in place leading up to this operation. Should the two groups come directly to you, or should they stage by the Anomaly?" The Giant Envoy asked.

"Have them come to our location. We will open the Portals to the Anomaly and guide them the whole way there so that there are no unforeseen incidents while we aren't present." Max decided.

Before there could be any more questions about their intentions, Nico ordered Felicity to move the ship to her chosen location to start the work. The transition was always so smooth on the World Ship that very few even noticed that anything had happened, except a few sensitive species and those who were watching the exterior displays.

Fortunately for them, Nico had picked a spot with multiple visible planets, including one with a perpetual lightning storm, which would keep the attention of the astrology lovers for the next few days.

Most of them might not even notice that off one side of the ship, the feeds were blocked, and no data could be gathered. Some would naturally grow curious, but between Nico and Felicity's ability to falsify data, they were fairly confident that they could falsify an empty asteroid field on that side while the ships were created.

The process would involve deploying twelve entire Terraforming Arrays in order to meet the deadline, including all of the military forces, and the amount of raw materials used would be staggering, in the billions of tonnes.

That much of the asteroid field going missing would certainly alarm the environmental activists, even though this was no longer an inhabited star system, and that was a headache that nobody needed. They loved to protest and seemed to have unlimited time and resources for the purpose.

"The process is started. We just need to wait for everything to be finished, and then we can set out with your teams. How long will they need to prepare? Should we be ready to host them for a day or so before we set out, or will they be needing more time to prepare for an extended mission?" Max asked the Envoys.

"We've started already? I didn't even notice. Very slick, Commander. I think that the Innu will be ready on time; they are very punctual about such things, but the Valkia might need some time. They don't get to go out much, so there will be intense competition for the spaces that are available, even for a mission this dangerous." The Giant explained.

Max chuckled at the description while the Valkia Envoy shrugged in resignation. Though they wouldn't admit it, the Valkia as a species had never really lost their warlike tendencies. They had just done their best to channel them into a law enforcement direction.
