"Jack, do you perhaps know about your mother's whereabouts? We need to complete the agreement sooner, or my shadow organization is going to suffer." At this moment, the old man spoke again, bringing Jack out of his thoughts.

"My mother is gone." Jack replied calmly.

"Gone? Where? To the stronghold?" The old man asked confusedly.

"What I'm trying to say is that my mother passed away over 5 years ago." Jack replied, only this time, his voice actually contained some coldness within it.

The old man remain silent as he looked at Jack. He was actually trying to see if Jack was playing a joke on him or not. But when he looked at Jack's serious expression, and noticed that the girls that were beside or behind Jack both had the same expressions on their faces, he couldn't believe it.

From the expressions on their faces, it was obvious that what Jack had said was not a joke, but what was true. But, how good the old man believe something like that? That was completely impossible to him.

"That is completely impossible! Someone like her is not going to die so easily without actually facing a stronger enemy. How can she who…" The old man was just about to continue and suddenly, his face turned pale once again. And then the next moment, he vomited yet another mouthful of blood.

At the same time, his breathing suddenly became rugged. He looked at Jack, as if he wanted to say something, but no matter how hard he tried, he couldn't do it. After all, he was sure that the moment that he said what was in his mind, he was going to pass away the following second.

"My mother died of a slow poison. The doctor that was supposed to deal with it was paid not to do so. And for that reason, she passed away like that. And ever since then, it has already been half a decade." Jack replied calmly.

At this moment, even though it was true that he was saying these words, he himself was actually not convinced. Considering that the old man was finding it impossible to believe that Anne had actually passed away just like that, he also didn't believe it now.

If it was true that she was actually a superhuman, then, if it was dealing with the Alfonso family, then that was something that she could have easily dealt with.

Additionally, the amount of money that he had received after he had opened the envelope was enough proof that if she wanted a better life, Anne would have definitely done so, not being prevented by anyone from doing it.

Benjamin had already proved all of this the moment that he said that, if Anne really wanted to get out of the Alfonso family, there was nobody that was capable of stopping her from doing so.

Died of a slow poison. Jack's mind began spinning as he thought about it again and again. But the more he thought about it, the more impossible and illogical he found the matter was.

During the time that he was still a normal human, with enhanced abilities of course, he was actually capable of detecting if the food possessed anything strange that wasn't supposed to be there.

Even though it was going to be difficult to identify if there was poison or not, if someone brought in a pizza, then, as long as you knew about the ingredients of the pizza, as long as there was anything strange within it, with the senses that he possessed at that time, he was going to be capable of realizing it.

But, if his mother was actually a superhuman, then, it was completely impossible for her to be poisoned just like that. After all, her metabolic system had increased, and so had the white blood cells been strengthened.

Since the body's immune system had been improved, then, the normal poison would definitely not work on her. Additionally, considering that the poison was one that was acting at a slow pace, it was going to be destroyed by the body's immune system as time went by.

"Then, if that is the case, if what you are saying is actually true, then that implies that the contract should have been nullified. But still, I am getting punished the moment that I try revealing anything that goes against the contract. This is something that should not happen…" The old man began speaking once again.

And once he said that, Jack's heart skipped a beat. Then a possibility emerged in his mind, 'Could it be possible that my mother is actually alive? If that is the case, then, where could she be? And why would she not appear in front of me? Or, why was it that I was actually capable of seeing her body during the funeral?'

Jack's mind began spinning once again. To him, now, everything was a mystery to him. He couldn't understand anything, as the more he came to know about his mother, the more confused about her he became.

After a long time, he finally decided that he was going to question Benjamin about what he had said. Even though it was true that Benjamin had said that there was something that he was not allowed to reveal, still, Jack wasn't willing to give up.

If possible, he really would have asked the old man in front of him to reveal all the information. But after knowing that the contract that the old man had signed was effective, then, this might actually be away for him to utilize to continue knowing if the doubts about his mother being alive were true or not.

"Now what am I going to do? This cannot be happening! I have struggled all this time, I have tried and put in a lot of effort, but all of this is going to end just like that? This cannot happen, this cannot happen!" The old man was actually almost losing his mind as he began thinking about the matter.

He was currently bound by the contract, and he was not capable of revealing any information about the contract that he had signed with Anne. But, nobody was going to fulfill the other end of the agreement, making the shadow organization suffer a loss.

Jack remained silent as he looked at the old man. And after a period of time when the old man had finally stopped muttering to himself, he finally decided to speak.

"I can see that the shadow organization is not in a good condition as of now. But still, you will have to give my wife compensation. So, what do you think?" Jack asked.

The old man's eyes reddened. Previously, he had been having some high hopes that perhaps, there was something that had restricted Anne from doing what she had promised.

But now that he was actually being told that she was dead, then, that was something that he didn't want to believe, considering that the contract was still in place. But still, Jack did not know about her whereabouts, and neither did the shadow organization.

The amount of resources that the shadow organization was currently possessing was as low as it could be. But even so, Jack was actually still asking for them to give out something, when they had everything at a limited amount.

Wasn't Jack supposed to be helping them because it was his mother who had broken the agreement? Why was it that he was actually trying to make sure that they suffered even more?

"Don't push it too far. You have already beaten my grandsons and my son. More than that, you have already benefited from the shadow organization. And now, your mother didn't fulfill her end of the deal. For that reason, you are actually supposed to be bearing her responsibilities, rather than asking for the shadow organization to give you something." The old man looked at Jack as he said all of these.

This time, he didn't care whether Jack was going to kill him or not. After all, what was the difference? Without the resources, there was no need for the shadow organization to exist.

And even if it continued to exist, without the resources that were used to ensure the stability and growth of the members of the shadow organization, then, the whole organization would be nothing more than an empty shell.

"I don't remember ever signing a contract with your organization. So, I don't know what benefit you are talking about, and neither do I know what you came to an agreement with my mother." Jack begin speaking calmly.

With his eyes focused on the old man in front of him, he continued, "But still, you will have to compensate my wife. That is something that you will have to do even if I will have to destroy the entire shadow organization. That means that I will destroy the buildings, and everyone within the organization."

The moment that Jack said these words, the old man was suddenly brought back to his senses. If what Jack had said was true, then if he was going to kill everybody here, that implied that even his son and grandsons were going to be involved in the matter.

That was something that the old man wasn't willing to see. No matter how hard he really wanted to oppose Jack, Jack was the only one holding the initiative.

"Alright then. I will compensate her with a serum that will be able to enhance her overall abilities." With an aching heart, the old man said.

"That is good. Now, I have a different proposition for you. What do you think about making the same agreement as the one that you made with my mother, but we will have to change about what benefits I'm going to receive?" Jack asked with a shallow smile on his face.
