How could Chuanli take that lying down? He had just managed to find hope and a ray of light for his research and it was going to be taken away just like that?

That wouldn't happen under his nose, he was going to demand an explanation from Mr. Fang, and with that, he shot up the stairs immediately, forcing the butler to chase after him in surprise.

Because he didn't know the way to Mr. Fang's study, Chuanli had to slow down for the butler to meet up with him.

For a moment, Zhang Liling was surprised by Chuanli's action. She even climbed two steps of the stairs to peer and see what was going on.

'Why is this man worried about whether I get fired or not?'

'Does he know me from somewhere? But we have never met before, and his name doesn't sound that familiar'

A few minutes of pondering over Chuanli's earlier actions and not getting any close result was enough time for her to continue worrying about being fired.

Deep in her heart, she hoped that if he (Chaunli) had the power to help her, things would go smoothly for her because given the actions he displayed earlier, he looked like he didn't want her to be fired.

"Get my security details back. This nonsense cannot repeat itself!" Mr. Fang said to Bolin.

Mr. Fang used to have a team of security men following him about, but that stopped some time ago, but because of Zhang Liling's brazen actions, had taught him a lesson and given him a reminder of the reason he needed them back.

Bolin thought so too because if Mr. Fang's security team were still around, there was no way Zhang Liling would have easily snuck in.

The reason he didn't see her, was because he had a lot of responsibilities on his shoulders to carry, but with the security team back, the burden on his shoulders would be lifted.

"I will work on that, Sir."

Facing him with a stern gaze, Mr. Fang said in an imposing tone, "If you make another mistake this time around, have any of your family members present your head to me, or you better go into hiding and pray I don't find you."

Bolin knew he had forgiven him and was giving him another chance. He heaved a sigh of relief and hurriedly bowed and thanked him.

Mr. Fang waved it off and turned his attention back to Zhang Liling's case.

"It's already very late. Come back tomorrow morning to take that girl away."

He has already decided not to make a case out of this and punish her severely, although he still couldn't bring himself to forgive her audacious acts.

Was she not afraid of him like the others?

Was he now easy to get by just anyone?

Mr. Fang couldn't bring himself to forgive her, and he was already being very kind not to pursue this matter, and just let her off.

Bolin nodded in understanding before asking about the agency that recruited Zhang Liling in the first place.

"…what should we do to them?"

Bolin also couldn't let them go scot-free, not after what he just passed through. How could they employ someone without doing the groundwork of investigations first? And that was what made him too relaxed to make a huge mistake.

Mr. Fang scoffed, "Give them a big warning. If they can't even carry out a simple task of screening their employee's background, why are they still in business?"

Business people that were not serious with their jobs, always get on his nerves. If that agency was his business partner, or if Zhang Liling had done anything absurd that looked like a crime in his place, they would have gone out of business already.

No one who causes him harm directly or indirectly gets away with it.

Bolin took that order and turned to leave, but Chuanli came disrupting the ambiance as soon as he walked in.

Pushing the door open after the butler managed to knock only once, he made his way in and shut the door behind me to the surprise of the butler who stood there and was unable to utter a word for several seconds before walking away.

"Bingwen what is this that I'm hearing? Why do you want to fire your housekeeper, what did she do wrong?!" Chuanli said in an agitated tone, without considering Mr. Fang's mood.

Mr. Fang was the only one surprised to see him in his house at that hour, and he couldn't help but ask about it.

"What are you doing here by this time?"

Bolin took a few steps backward to let Chuanli move forward and be the center of Mr. Fang's attention. He was not surprised to see him there since he was aware from the beginning. But he was surprised at his agitation.

Why was he angry that Zhang Liling was going to be sacked? Did he have any sort of relationship with her?

Chuanli went straight to sit before Mr. Fang and placed his hands on the desk with furrowed brows.

"Bingwen, are you trying to make matters difficult for me?"

"What do you mean? Mr. Fang asked with a tight frown. He was a bit confused at what his words meant.

Chuanli leaned over and began to pour out his grievances while Bolin stood at a corner and watched with his lips twitching at intervals.

Chuanli complained about Mr. Fang not telling him about Zhang Liling's details when he found out about it, and also the fact that she was at his place.

"…why are you chasing her away already when she already ran into your arms? Don't you know that this is the perfect opportunity to get that important information from her? Didn't you think it would be difficult to get close to her after you have sacked her?"

If Zhang Liling was sacked now, and let's say they manage to get some of the data from her through an underhanded means which Mr. Fang wouldn't want, how would they get her to cooperate if further experiments needed her presence and a part of her?

That would be a difficult situation to control.

Having spoken for so long, Mr. Fang interjected with a frosty gaze, "Are you saying she should continue to stay here?"
