Chapter 33.2

Injured

Lin Yan lay on the ground, clutching her abdomen, sweat beads the size of peas forming on her forehead. She watched as the scar-faced man smashed her phone to pieces with his foot, carrying a baseball bat as he approached her.

She swallowed her saliva and quietly placed her hand on her lower back. The taste of blood on her lips only seemed to excite her further.

For a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu practitioner, falling to the ground was never the end; it was the beginning.

As he approached, closing in on his optimal striking distance, Lin Yan made her move!

The man probably didnt expect her, beaten by four people, to still have the strength to fight back. In that moment of surprise, he lost the initiative. Lin Yan supported herself with one hand. Her legwork was impeccable, and with a swift sweeping kick, she not only tripped her opponent but also used the force to stand up. Her right leg carried thunderous power as it aimed for his face with a high kick.

The greater the arc of her spinning kick, the stronger the force behind it. Almost like a half-circle drawn in the air. If that hit the neck, it would have instantly snapped the vertebrae. The man, drawing from his extensive combat experience, instinctively used a baseball bat to block. Wood splintered, and the bat shattered with a resounding crash, flying along with its owner and landing heavily on the road.

Scarface immediately spat out a mouthful of blood.

Lin Yan turned around and swiftly drew a mechanical baton. She gestured with a flick of her hand towards the three bewildered individuals, saying, Come on, lets all go at it together, thats when it gets interesting.

She teased nonchalantly, but the three people facing her exchanged glances and simultaneously harbored murderous intent, brandishing their weapons and rushing towards her.

Fists and feet clashed, and sticks and bats intermingled. One of them aimed his baseball bat directly at the back of her head, intent on ending her life right then and there!

Lin Yan bent over to evade the blow, her gaze sharpened. She grabbed his wrist with her left hand and pressed it downward, while her right hand raised the baton high, ready to strike at a vital point in his abdomen. Who the hell asked you guys to come?

Her mechanical baton had been with her for ten years, a German-made one called Sentry. The entire body was crafted from aerospace-grade aluminum, known for being lightweight, durable, and resistant to impact.

With this swing, it seemed there were no visible marks on the mans body, but he spat out blood with a Wa and dropped to his knees.

The baseball bat in his hand also fell limply to the ground.

Lin Yan reached out to pull off his mask and, in her peripheral vision, noticed someone charging towards her from behind. A faint smirk tugged at the corner of her lips. As the incoming force of the weapon broke the air, it had already sent her hair flying in front of her forehead. Taking advantage of her bodys flexibility, she bent down, propping herself up with her right hand. She grabbed the persons arm with her left hand, leveraging it to throw both individuals together, knocking down a bicycle parked by the roadside.

She wiped a bead of sweat from her face and said with a cold smile, If you want to live, tell me who sent you here, or else

Before her words could even finish, the hairs on her back stood on end, and an alarm bell rang in her mind. Subconsciously, she raised her mechanical baton to defend herself, but it was just a fraction of a second too slow.

The razor-sharp blade brushed past the inner side of the mechanical baton, leaving a gash on her shoulder.

Blood trickled down from the wound, and Lin Yan took a few steps back, panting heavily.

The scar-faced man flicked his dagger and shrugged his shoulder. Didnt anyone ever teach you never to turn your back on your opponent?

Lin Yan panted but her gaze burned hot. You bunch of trash think youre worthy opponents? Hah!

One of the masked men glanced at Scarface and said, Dont waste time talking to her; she wont last much longer. Lets go together!

While these four individuals as a group couldnt match Lin Yans skills, they were considered above average. Especially their leader, the scar-faced man, clearly had received professional combat training and struck fast and accurately. With their numbers and teamwork, they played a relentless game of cat and mouse. In no time, Lin Yan had acquired more cuts and scratches, retreating with her mechanical baton in hand, leaving a trail of blood on the ground.

She couldnt help but raise her eyes to look at the empty alley entrance and grit her teeth.

Damn it, Song Yuhang, if you dont show up soon, Ill remember it for a lifetime.

Perhaps the heavens heard her thoughts because just as another masked man lunged at her, preparing to respond, a dark figure leaped down from the balcony of a second-floor residential building. With a swift knee strike, the figure aimed directly at the head of the person in front of Lin Yan. The tremendous force sent the man flying and crashing into the wall, causing flowerpots perched on the wall to crash down and shatter on the ground.

Blood oozed from under the persons mask, and the baseball bat rolled to the side, rendering them powerless to retaliate.

The appearance of Song Yuhang greatly relieved the pressure on her. Lin Yan stood up, supporting herself with her baton.

The two of them stood back to back in a defensive posture. Song Yuhang, glanced back at her, and upon seeing her covered in wounds, her eyes darkened, and she tightly pressed her lips together.

Are you okay? she asked.

Lin Yan wiped a smear of blood from her lip, straightened her posture, and declared loudly, Im fine. This is nothing. I can still fight!

Song Yuhang shook her head and grabbed Lin Yans wrist, lowering her voice. You go ahead, Ill cover your rear.

Ha, just these small fry, cover the rear for what? Lets take them head-on! Lin Yan replied, charging straight at them, but she didnt use her full strength. Instead, she fought while gradually retreating toward the alley entrance.

Understanding her intent, Song Yuhang followed suit, helping to absorb most of the pressure. Amidst the chaos, she took a few punches but continued to restrain the remaining three individuals effectively.

Her fighting style differed from Lin Yans. Lin Yan was agile with ample finesse but somewhat lacking in brute force, making self-defense a non-issue. However, when it came to offensive power, Song Yuhang clearly had the upper hand.

She struck with great force, her punches landing solidly, and her combinations were unpredictable, making her a formidable opponent.

Scarface couldnt land a single blow on her even with a weapon, and he ended up taking several hits to his temples instead. He spat out a vile substance, feeling dizzy and disoriented.

Her left side was restrained by one opponent, and another attacker came from a diagonal angle. Lin Yan used her mechanical baton to block the attack for her companion, taking a few steps back. Blood had already soaked her entire arm, dripping steadily from her fingertips.

Song Yuhang shouted urgently, Why arent you leaving?!

And what about you if I leave?! Dealing with any one of these opponents individually was not an easy task, let alone three.

With a swift elbow strike, Song Yuhang targeted her opponents side, then used her free hand to twist the arm of the masked man holding the baton, applying intense pressure. The masked man let out a painful cry but still attempted to get back up. Song Yuhang then reversed her grip, bringing the man toward herself and grabbing his arm. She swiftly executed a neck lock, slamming his head forcefully into the ground.

She singlehandedly fought off three opponents, creating an escape route for Lin Yan. Song Yuhang maintained her grip on her opponent and turned to Lin Yan, saying, Go now!

Lin Yan clenched her teeth, wielding the mechanical baton, ready to charge out. However, Scarface, who had just climbed to his feet, aimed his dagger at her head and viciously hurled it.

Song Yuhangs pupils contracted. The two individuals she had restrained firmly held onto her arms, preventing her from moving.

With a powerful scream, she exerted force with her heels, unexpectedly relying on her formidable muscle strength to push the two young men forward forcefully.

The bricks beneath her feet left two white streaks, and finally, using the momentum, she forcefully threw the men to the ground, simultaneously shouting, Lin Yan, get down!

The moment she heard her voice, maybe it was a silent understanding, Lin Yan didnt think much. She rarely followed orders like this, but she found herself huddling and rolling on the ground, clutching her head, narrowly avoiding the deadly weapon.

However

Drip, drip.

Drip, drip.

Blood droplets rolled down along the blade and splattered on the ground.

Song Yuhang lowered her gaze to the knife lodged in her chest, coughing softly, with blood foaming at her lips.

Scarface grinned, Didnt expect that, did you? Who goes out without carrying a knife, huh? Unlike you cops, I value my life.

He gripped the knifes handle with both hands and twisted it forcefully, driving it deeper into her muscles and bones until the blade was entirely embedded.

Song Yuhang gritted her teeth, and the fresh blood that oozed out instantly stained her clothing. With red eyes, she stared fixedly at Scarface, using both hands to pry his wrist back step by step. With each step, more frothy blood appeared at the corner of her lips, and the knife burrowed deeper. She cast a glance back at Lin Yan, her vision becoming increasingly blurred.

A faint smile of satisfaction tugged at the corners of Song Yuhangs lips, thinking that if she couldnt see, it meant she was safe, right?

Scarface had his wrist firmly clamped, forced to step back along with her. He watched in horror as even the knifes hilt disappeared into her body, and fear washed over his face. Youre crazy!

He didnt dare to waste any more time, having already heard the sound of sirens in the distance. He simply lifted his leg and delivered a knee strike, sending her flying. Song Yuhang, like a kite with a broken string, crashed heavily to the ground.

Lin Yan remained lost in that final gaze for a long time, unable to snap out of it. What kind of expression was that?

Her limited vocabulary couldnt fully express it.

She only knew that the look contained a myriad of emotionsthere was contentment, reluctance, nostalgia and even a hint of regret.

Until she fell heavily beside her, blood soaking her entire front, with a gleaming steel knife embedded in a vital area. Lin Yans eyes turned scarlet in an instant, and she lunged forward, clutching her mechanical baton, shouting, Ill f***ing kill you!!!

There was even a trace of a sob in her voice.

She didnt know where the strength came from, but she swung her mechanical baton wildly, her moves losing all form. In her mind, there was only one thought: Kill him! Kill him! Kill him!

The blood flowed down with each swing of her baton, her hand almost too slippery to hold it. Until her blood mixed with the enemys, and the tip of the baton was smeared with something white and frothy.

Scarface slipped from her palm to the ground, unmoving, like a dead dog.

She had actually beaten the man to death with her mechanical baton.

Lin Yan paused, panting heavily, her eyes bloodshot. Her icy gaze swept over, her body covered in blood, resembling a fierce demon.

The remaining two individuals stared at her as if she were a killing god. One of them climbed to their feet and ran, while the other stood frozen in place, trembling, and had an accident in their pants, clutching their baseball bat.

Lin Yan tossed her mechanical baton aside, turned, and helped Song Yuhang to her feet, bearing her weight on her own shoulders. Lets go.

Song Yuhang covered her wound, the knife handle still embedded in her flesh. Every step was excruciatingly painful, and she was drenched in sweat, her face pallid. She knew Lin Yan was also injured but tried to push her away to walk on her own.

I I can walk on my own

Lin Yan didnt let go; she had one arm around Song Yuhangs waist and gripped her wrist firmly. Her gaze was resolute. Shut up.

Song Yuhang looked at her profile, now that they were closer, she could see her clearly. Her face was covered in bloodstains, yet her eyes were so bright. Although it wasnt yet evening, she could see stars in them.

The faint floral scent at her neck had been completely overshadowed by the smell of blood.

Song Yuhang, somehow feeling a bit regretful, asked, The baton you dont want it anymore?

Lin Yan glanced at her and replied softly, No, I dont.
