595 Fear suddenly seized him
Erik then said to him, closing his eyes as he really didn't feel well: "We just fought a hard battle and we both use up a lot of our energy to support each other, maybe something is wrong with the baby."
Alan then placed his hand on Erik's stomach and he asked him: "So do you believe that you're pregnant too? Are you really carrying our baby?"
Erik then opened is eyes and he told him: "If it's true, then I don't want to lose our baby… Let them check, please."
Alan then kissed him, feeling a little lost by all this situation but he said to Elias and Miguel: "Let me carry him to our bed first, he is too weak to stand on his own."
Fear suddenly seized him as he realized that they were probably all right and that Erik was probably pregnant, which was the most plausible explanation for what was happening to him...
His hands started to shake as he put them behind Erik's back and legs to lift him off the ground, and his fear became so obvious that Erik said to him, placing a hand on his cheek and stroking it gently: "Don't worry my love, I'm a Stage 2 Warrior Spirit now, my regeneration ability is well above average and our bond will provide me with the energy I'm going to need... Nothing will happen to me or our baby, I promise."
Alan then looked at him and said, still not knowing how to react to this news: "You'd better not forget that promise."
Axel, who had been able to follow Alan's train of thought thanks to his Divine Wolf that was still activated, said to him: "Don't worry, brother, what happened to your mother won't happen to Erik, we're all here, and we'll never let such a tragedy happen again, you have my word."
Alan then looked at Axel, and his best friend had become so powerful that despite the anguish he couldn't shake off, he still felt reassured by his words so he simply nodded and ended up gently placing Erik on their bed.
Miguel then isolated the room they were in so as not to worry all the nearby fighters and mages unnecessarily when Elias would use his Stage 2, and when it was done, he simply nodded and Elias activated his Stage 2.
His basic Stats were already very high, but to be able to see inside Erik's body and check if everything was alright with the fetus, if Erik was really pregnant, he had no other choice but to use his Stage 2.
Miguel didn't stand still either and he activated his Priest powers to see for himself if Erik was really expecting a baby.
Elias then said to Miguel, feeling very emotional by what he was seeing: "Can you see it too, Love?"
Miguel, whose eyes had turned silver and reflected the colors of the elements, smiled then and he said to Alan and Erik: "Congratulations, Erik is carrying your baby, the fetus is still young but Axel was right, his heartbeat is strong, everything looks alright."
After kneeling next to the bed so he could put his hand on Erik's stomach, Alan started to stroke it tenderly, his hand still shaking because their baby was just there...
And when Erik suddenly put his hand over his and he felt his joy through their bond, he looked at him, his feelings still torn between excitement, happiness, and fear, but when he saw his unusual paleness again, his fear took over again and he then asked in confusion, turning to Miguel and Elias: "If our baby is fine, then why is Erik so sick?"
Elias then looked at Miguel and told him, confused too: "That's right, Erik shouldn't be sick, after all he's a Warrior Spirit... I think we should still take them to see Esme, she's the only one qualified to help us in this kind of situation."
Axel then said to Alan when he saw him frown, because he knew that Alan's overprotective side was likely to cause them problems: "Alan relax, Esme is the ancient Goddess of love and fertility, and she's a friend of the Warrior Spirits, so if you want to understand what's happening to Erik and make sure his pregnancy goes well, listen to her advice, understand?"
Erik then said, still in a weak voice: "Alan, Axel is right, for my sake and that of our baby, you must let the others help us... After that we'll know more about my pregnancy and it will reassure you, trust them my love."
Alan didn't like to depend on others in general but he smiled at Erik to reassure him and said: "Don't worry, of course I'll listen to Elias and Miguel's advice... and if they think it's necessary to go and see this Goddess to find out more about your condition, then we'll go and see her, and the sooner the better..."
As soon as Alan finished his sentence, Erik clutched his hand and gritted his teeth, because his stomach had just contracted and it hurt like hell.
When Miguel saw this he said to Elias: "Let's go right away, Esme will forgive us for barging in unannounced for this kind of emergency."
Elias nodded and said to Alan and Erik as he approached them and held out his hand to them: "Take my hand, I'll teleport you straight to her."
Alan then helped Erik put his hand on top of Elias's and he thanked them for their help before putting his hand on top of Elias's too.
Elias then disappeared with them and before Miguel could leave to join them Axel said hurriedly: "Miguel, wait!"
Miguel looked at him surprised and said: "I'm sorry Axel, but I'm not allowed to take you there, that place is kept secret for the safety of Esme's people, and we're already breaking the rules by taking Erik and Alan there."
But Axel shook his head and told him: "It wasn't to accompany you that I asked you to wait, but to warn you... Alan is a lot more stubborn and overprotective than you might think and I'm pretty sure that it's because of his emotions that their bond pushed me violently away earlier... Just look out for them, okay?"
Miguel smiled at him and said: "Don't worry, everything's going to be fine... I'm off, see you later!"
Esme was no longer in the plane of existence reserved for the Gods, she was currently in her home world and that was why Axel couldn't accompany them.
Erik and Alan were too weak to pose any threat to Esme and without her authorisation, they would never be able to teleport to her world again, even from the prison dimension, but Axel was different...
Axel had become so powerful that Miguel didn't doubt for a moment that if he'd wanted to follow them he might well have done so, but fortunately Axel hadn't insisted on following them and he'd simply wanted to warn him about Alan's behavior...
And after what he'd told him about the fact that it was probably due to Alan's emotions that their bond had defended them, he just hoped that everything had gone well when they'd landed in Esme's Palace.
When Elias teleported them to the room where he had sensed Esme's presence, arriving completely unannounced, they were immediately surrounded by her elite bodyguards, all of whom were armed and extremely powerful.
And before Elias or Esme, who had recognised him, could calm things down, Alan's eyes turned golden and all the guards, without exception, were thrown several meters away from them.
Erik swore as he had just seen their Dual Cultivation bond changing shape again, and like a shockwave it had pushed back all the armed men facing them, only for Alan, who had unconsciously used their bond to defend them, to collapse to the ground and Erik in extremistly managed to catch him before he hit the ground.
Miguel arrived just then and when he saw all of Esme's guards on the ground obviously struggling to get up and the stunned look on Elias' face, he asked Elias when he saw that Alan was now unconscious: "What happened?"
But Esme's aura began to vibrate with anger and she asked them: "That's what I'd like to know too, and I hope you both have a good explanation for bringing two strangers into my house, one of whom has just taken down all my men in one go... I'm waiting!"
Miguel then asked Elias stunned too: "Is it Alan who did that?"
Elias just nodded and he said to Esme: "I'm sorry, it's my fault I should have warned him beforehand that we will receive this kind of welcome, forgive him, this man just learned that his lover is pregnant, and he probably just wanted to protect him... actually to protect them, as he is now carrying their baby."
Esme then widened her eyes because that shouldn't be possible...
