Chapter 24: 24

Without hesitation, Ben took advantage of his small size again. He screamed internally as he took a very sharp turn, avoiding the collision with the ground. He flew horizontally. But for the Ravan, it completely fell into Bn's plan.

Seeing the prey before it disappeared, it used all its strength to break its fall, but its large body and wing size were not fit for this stunt. The ravan fell on its head, its upper peck broke in half, and drops of blood fell down.

Seeing that his plan worked, Ben then dove towards the tree line, narrowly avoiding the branches as he weaved through the dense foliage and made a sharp turn, losing the bird's eyesight momentarily.

He slowed down his speed as he caught his breath, but before it was even 10 seconds, he felt the sharp energy from behind him. His senses screamed again, and he gritted his teeth in frustration as he used a branch of a tree to shield from the coming attack.

The sharp blade hit the thin branch as it easily cut through it, scattering wooden chuncks everywhere. Between the gaps of flying chuncks, Ben saw a glimpse of his transformed enemy.

broken peck, and half of its face demaged, including its eyes. The raven's black feathers were covered in red blood as it screamed again and again. It was as if the bird had gone insane, and all it wanted to do was kill the mosquito before its eyes.

Ben didn't get to see the insanity as a wood chunk knocked on his body, throwing him off balance as he barely avoided hitting a tree.

Ben was tired; his wings were aching, but his mind was telling him to keep flying or he would die. Each fibre of his body was aching, but he couldn't afford to stop, as he was involved in a fast chase for his life.

Ben continuously flew through branches and took sharp turns, hoping that the bird would somehow lose track and stop chasing him. He looked behind him again; the screech of the bird was completely gone.

Beads of sweat formed on his forehead, and just as he thought he had survived, his senses screamed again. He could feel a strong killing intent. Ben turned his head to look before him; it was the black raven.

"Is this my end...?" A sudden thought crossed Ben's mind as he felt massive killing intent before him. For the first time in his life, Ben felt what it meant to be prey—being hunted by a predator.

"BLOOD NEEDLE"

In a desperate attempt, Ben launched a blood-needle attack towards the ravan, who was just a metre away from Ben. Its wings were covered in sharp silver energy as it moved towards its target.

"Boom" With a blasting sound, the blood needle infused with Blazing Stringer hit its mark, completely blasting off the ravens. Its feathers were burning in flames, but the ravan didn't stop as it cut through the explosion and passed through Ben.

In one second, it was before him, and in another second, it was behind him. Ben felt a very sharp pain in his lower body, as if someone were pulling his guts out. A fountain of blood leaked from his body and his mouth as he felt unbalanced in flying.

A bunch of notifications kept popping up on Ben's screen, but Ben was in shock, his life flashing before his eyes. He felt unbalanced as he fell towards the ground; exhalation kicked in with pain, and his body completely froze in the moment.

As his body turned arroud, he was the lower half of his body, which was now completely cut off.

"SchreekKK" Ben's daze was broken by another sharp scream. He saw his predator, the burning black ravan with red eyes. Its claws were sharp enough to cut through metal; the bird picked up Ben's lower body and swllowed it in one go.

As the bird descended, Ben could feel his consciousness fading away. Despite his dire situation, he couldn't afford to give up. He had to fight back, even if it seemed futile.

Summoning every ounce of strength and determination, Ben activated his Blood Needle skill once more. With a swift motion, he launched another crimson needle towards the bird, aiming for its vulnerable spots.

To his surprise, the bird's silver aura flickered and distorted, appearing behind him once again, and with a swift motion of its wings, a gust of wind passed through Ben, throwing him against a tree bark.

Ben's body collided with the tree trunk, his fragile form absorbing the impact with a sickening crunch. Pain radiated through his remaining body parts, and he struggled to keep his consciousness from slipping away. Blood trickled from his wounds, staining the ground beneath him.

The bird, sensing its imminent victory, descended upon Ben, its sharp beak and claws poised to finish the job. Its piercing eyes gleamed with a cruel hunger, ready to claim its prey. Ben's vision blurred as he desperately tried to muster any strength he had left.

With a final surge of adrenaline, Ben managed to push himself off the tree, narrowly evading the bird's lethal strike. He plummeted to the ground, landing with a bone-jarring thud, exacerbating his injuries. Every movement sent waves of agony through his battered body, but he refused to succumb to the pain.

Barely clinging to life, Ben crawled through the undergrowth, leaving a trail of blood in his wake. Every inch felt like an eternity as he fought against the darkness creeping at the edges of his vision. His determination burned brightly within him, pushing him forward despite the overwhelming odds.

His senses dulled, and the world around him grew hazy and distorted. Death loomed just inches away, its cold grasp ready to claim him. But Ben refused to surrender. Memories of his mother's words echoed in his mind, urging him to fight for his life.
