Chapter 1340: Rain and Clouds

No one concentrated on this. Many things could only be solved when they returned to their respective homes in different countries.

The only firm thing was that the problem would be huge if the Saint was really in cohorts with the Aslan Empire.

An incident that could be a milestone in the history of the human era in the interstellar region happened when they were still on the way.

The elite human fleet was ambushed by the Saint’s fleet on the way to the Oracle Star. The Saint detonated the subspace magnetic mine when the advance team went in. This was the latest type of space mine. The other countries had been developing weapons over the past years. This was called the ghost floating mine.

At the same time, the Saint’s fleet appeared. The size of the Saint’s fleet was less than 10% of the Alliance fleet. This was an absolute disadvantage in space warfare. The ghost floating mine did cause confusion to the Alliance fleet, but they calmed down in no time and got themselves back in order. They began their counterattack.

The advance team of Arbiter escaped death and showcased their powerful attacks. The Saint’s fleet might have more advanced technology and firepower, but it wasn’t an absolute advantage in space. The casualties from both sides began to increase.

In such a situation, the Alliance fleet only needed to attack steadily and victory would surely be theirs. The Saint’s strategy was right. The surveillance of the Alliance fleet would be risen to the highest level as they approached the Oracle Star. Once that happened, even a weapon such as the ghost floating mine would not necessarily become a threat. However, the ambush did have a special effect. The contrast between both sides was rather special.

That was until the Alliance fleet’s own backyard caught fire. The Aslan fleet in charge of their retreat route defenses suddenly opened fire on the Alliance fleet.

The impact of this attack from the strong Aslan Empire was simply too powerful.

The signals were completely isolated. The thoughts of the various commanders were unknown. It was the biggest conspiracy in human history over the past nearly 100 years. The war was inevitable.

The Aslan Empire and Saint fleets joined to attack the Alliance fleet with their superior technology and tactics. None were spared.

The “lucky” Arbiter space shuttle that was deliberately allowed to slip out realized something was wrong. It fell into a complete magnetic storm. The battle zone had four ordinary artificial small stars of no value.

The Aslan Empire and the Saint had been preparing for the battle for a long time. Nothing could go wrong.

The news traveled to the Milky Way Alliance headquarters. The Alliance fleet had “been destroyed!”

This news was sent by the Arbiter forces after they had slipped through, before the signal was cut off.

All the countries were beaten. There were more than 200,000 warships from all of the countries, which was able to flatten every corner of the galaxy. Amongst which, the ones with the most serious losses were the Aslan Empire and Arbiter Republic. Aslan had mobilized 5,000 of the latest warships, while the Arbiter Republic had mobilized 4,000 ships. A few thousand ships would make them not invincible!

In the distant interstellar battlefield, the Aslan Empire fleet hardly had any damage. They had merged with the Saint’s forces and cleared the battlefield in no time. This was just the first step in Kashawen’s plan. The battle was just starting, and the show had to go on.

At the Milky Way Alliance conference, the member countries were going crazy. Their self-confidence and arrogance were crushed. What kind of technology did the Saint obtain to be able to crush the Milky Way Alliance? This was totally different from their intel!

The Saint couldn’t possibly have such technology no matter how they looked at it. They were losing their composure.

At this time, Prime Minister Kashawen pointed the arrow towards the Arbiter Republic. The real collusion was between the Arbiter Republic and the Saint. The Arbiter fleet had created this confusion so that the fleets of the other countries would be confused. The advance team’s responsibility was to detect the enemy. The ghost floating mine might have been advanced, but it wasn’t impossible to detect. However, the Arbiter Republic didn’t give any warning about it. That was how they gave the Saint an opportunity to attack.

The representative from Arbiter denied, of course. It was an oversight.

There were at least 10 more days until they reached the destination. They didn’t think they had to be on full vigilance now. The general voyage would be on an all-weather alert, but Kashawen didn’t think so. That reason couldn’t hold. Even if it was an oversight, the Arbiter Republic had to be responsible for this failure.

However, the Versailles Empire threw a huge weight. A small battleship had survived and there was someone reporting from it.

There was the Arbiter fleet other than the Saint when they were out of the restricted zone...

Every member of the Milky Way Alliance was livid, and so was Kashawen. “Our Aslan Empire will definitely take revenge for all the dead comrades, no matter who the opponent is!”

The Versailles Empire expressed their support. They shouldn’t let the ploy of the Arbiter Republic pull through. Their ambition was well known, they just didn’t think they would be so bold in their moves!

The member of Arbiter was beaten up in the conference. They were gentlemen, but they would roughen up if need be. The most important thing was that everyone was looking for an excuse for the failure. They weren’t about to admit that the failure was because the Milky Way Alliance’s technology was too backwards. A convenient reason was pushed to them now: Arbiter was a traitor!

They had destroyed the Alliance fleet together with the Saint. Numerous heroes had been sacrificed.

The three Arbiter members were beaten to death at the scene.

Ryan and gang could only watch. Humans weren’t human-like once they started going crazy.

They were just thinking, how had that person from the Versailles Empire survived? How had they slipped away? Why weren’t they discovered? Were they reliable?

There were many points of suspicion. However, the agitation, fanned by Kashawen, was no longer possible to stop.

There was even a high ranking personnel amongst the three Arbiters killed. This was simply...

Ryan slouched back into his chair helplessly. The war had begun.

Kashawen knew that her plan had succeeded. It was difficult to deceive a person, but easy to deceive a group of people. Her plan was well thought out.

The Versailles Empire was a country that backed the Aslan Empire.

The Aslan Empire never thought they could control the Milky Way Alliance by themselves. They had to have comrades, and the Versailles Empire was one of their steadfast comrades.

Who in the Milky Way Alliance was there to stop the Aslan Empire if the Arbiter Republic was destroyed?
