“Look over there, some people are fighting!”

“Who are they? I can even feel their battle’s shock-waves from over here.”

Disciples watching in the distance exclaimed in surprise.

“Hey, I think I saw the Second Prince in that Spirit Artifact!”

“What, really?! Then does that mean another victim showed up? Now I feel bad for that person.”

“I wonder who took care of it this time?”

“I don’t know, maybe it was Blade Demon Mu Fan?”

“What I would kill to see Goddess Lihua fight, I heard she fought a spy that infiltrated the Divine Sword Music Faction yesterday.”

"Yeah, I wonder what that academy will do about that..."

As the disciple talked among themselves some distance away, back to where the battle took place, Suyan landed on the ground with a loud bang. He coughed out a mouth full of blood as he rolled onto his side.

He struggled to look through his swimming vision as the boat shot off into the distance.

“S-Spear Intent. That was Spear Intent.”

Suyan felt utterly shocked in his heart.

Why would such a genius follow that trashy prince?

But what shocked him even more, was the casual expressions and demeanor the other people on the boat had. They didn't even flinch when he made his attack as if they were confident that it wouldn't get past that spear user to affect them.

Especially that person who was covering his face. He simply pointed at the aftermath flames of the clash heading towards the boat and they scattered away.

His flames weren’t ordinary, it was flames rooted in his bloodline that was rumored to have been inherited from a Divine Phoenix in the past by his clan’s Patriarch.

Although it was debunked, as a proud genius he refuse to accept that he had been defeated so easily.

Suyan’s fingers dug into the ground and clenched fists full of dirt.

“Hey, are you okay?”

Suyan heard someone say and he look up to see a disciple leaping off his flying sword to approach him.

Suyan whipped away the blood from the corner of his lips as he said.

“I’m fine. After I recuperate I’ll take my revenge, not only on that Second Prince but that spear user as well.”

The disciple who was a young man looked at Suyan’s serious expression and he shook his head before saying.

“Brother, I don’t know who you are but I’d advise you to give up on such thoughts.”

“What?”

Suyan turned to him and scowled.

“Brother, I’ll tell you this.”

That disciple looked around cautiously as if what he was about to say wasn’t supposed to be told.

Looking back at Suyan he said in a low whisper just to be safe.

“That person you just fought was a Chosen, you know what a Chosen is right?”

Suyan had wondered what this person was being so sketchy about but his face fell at what he was being told.

“So what if he’s a Chosen? So am I.”

The young man hearing Suyan's words showed a shocked expression.

“You are? Then how come you were defeated so badly?”

Suyan immediately glared at this person, but he suddenly groan as his injuries doubled in intensity. He needed to find a place to start healing his injuries.

He ignore the young man and went climb, no, crawl onto his flying sword, but he was stopped by the young man's feet that appeared in front of him.

‘This fucker!’

“Wait, that’s not all! Listen to me for a moment!”

The young man hurriedly said when he saw Suyan’s dark expression.

“Look, I’m only doing this for you’re own good so you should be grateful you have someone to tell you this. The person you just fought was our Celestial Academy’s Little Spear Emperor!”

Suyan’s dark look fell.

“You’re lying.”

“No-no, I’m not, I’m telling the truth!”

The young man made a cross over his finger.

“He’s the Little Spear Emperor of our Celestial Academy, truly.”

Suyan was silent for a moment before blurting out.

“That's why he seemed so familiar! He’s the Little Spear Emperor of the Celestial Academy?!”

Suyan all most fainted.

He had heard the name before as it was the nickname given to one of the most recent geniuses that emerge on the Maple Continent.

The young man nodded, before saying with a solemn expression.

“Not only that but do you remember that cold face disciple that had two swords strapped to his waist? That’s Slaughter Sword, Fang Chen. And that skinny disciple who was bare feet? That was Blade Demon Mu Fan. The other one next to him was Tranquil Sword Saint Fei Yin, and the girl was Silk Goddess Lihua.”

As the young man finished, Suyan lay there utterly dumbfounded.

All of these names were geniuses that have popped up on the Maple Continent in recent years. So much so that they were given titles, something only reserved for the few truly talented geniuses.

He didn’t have a title, but he always attempted to make the name Cai Suyan the Conquer become more mainstream, albeit with little success.

But if all those people he was looking down on before were those outstanding geniuses, then that meant they were the Second Prince’s subordinates?

Suyan’s expression slowly became deathly pale.

Seeing his expression, the young man nodded.

“Now do you understand? The Second Prince isn’t someone you can pick a fight with. You must be another one of those jealous suitors from the Star Bound Continent. None of them have managed to beat one of his subordinates to fight him. They’re all Top Chosens after all.”

Suyan’s face was filled with bitterness at this, but he suddenly looked at the young man and asked.

“What about that person who was hiding his appearance? You didn’t mention his name, is he another genius?”

He remembered how easily that person scattered his flames and wondered if he was of a similar caliber as the rest

“That person? He’s…”

The young man paused, and an apprehensive expression appeared on his face.

“That person is our Celestial Academy’s Faceless Demon... He’s not well known by outsiders.”

The young man said those last words when he saw Suyan’s confused expression.

“He hasn’t truly shown his powers before like the others who have made waves by challenging various geniuses on the Continent. But from what he has shown, and from the rumors going around about him in the academy, compared to the others the Second Prince has under his command, he’s the most terrifying. You should stay away from him lest you become charcoal... or a drowned corpse.”

Suyan went silent as he took in all of this information. He watched the young man as he hopped onto his flying sword and left.

Looking in the direction where Li Shen’s boat flew in, Suyan clenched his fists.

“That shameless prince is just hiding behind those top geniuses. Are they fools?! How can they follow someone like that given their reputations and talents, it’s completely ridiculous!”

Suyan was utterly disappointed.

There was an official ranking of the Chosens between the Maple Continent and the Star Bound Continent that was written by the Mercenary Guild Association.

Jun and the others have all been recognized as top Chosens after they made their debut and shot up into the top twenty positions in the rankings.

People that knew about Chosens and these rankings all admired and respect them, including someone like Suyan that was not even in the top hundred and fifty.

But he never thought they would lower themselves to become subordinates of a useless prince.

This was the definition of never meeting your hero in real life.

Suyan crawled to his flying sword slowly, before he floated into the air and shot off into the distance.
