“So let me get this straight. The cultivation method you cultivate has the potential to change your core personality?”

With an exhausted and exasperated face, Mu Fan spoke while his chin was resting on a table which was off to the side in the training grounds

“That’s what I said bastard Jun, how many times should I repeat it?”

But then he paused, and after he sat up he said.

“Well, the possibility of that happening is extremely low, so low it couldn’t be considered a potential side effect no matter how wrongly you cultivate the technique. I was just so bad lucky that that small possibility happened to me.”

Mu Fan’s face was strange by the end of his sentence.

The others that were in various positions in the training ground, sitting and standing, all thought this was just the Mu Fan Effect.

Leave it to him to get a side effect from a cultivation method that was impossible to get under normal circumstances. He’s amazing in a sense.

“So? Are you going to tell us what the cultivation method is?”

Lihua spoke up and Mu Fan hearing her wore a reluctant expression.

Seeing that he wasn’t going to speak, everyone turned to Li Shen who was leaning against a tree nearby.

He was opening and snapping his fan shut but stopped when he saw everyone’s attention turn to him. Letting out a sigh, his gaze shifted to Mu Fan, and he stared at him for a moment.

Under Li Shen’s stare, Mu Fan squirmed in his seat rather uncomfortably.

Soon after Li Shen could be heard saying.

“Are you not saying anything because it’s a Legacy Cultivation Method?”

Mu Fan thought for a moment as if e was confirming this was something he could answer. After, he nodded his head slowly.

Li Shen seeing this nodded his head as well before he said.

“Fine, I won’t ask you what the cultivation method you cultivating entails. I should have known it’s a type of Legacy Cultivation Method seeing you refusing to talk about it.”

Everyone wore confused expressions with only Lihua having an understanding look on her face.

“Master, what’s a Legacy Cultivation Method?”

Yang Su asked the question all the boys were wondering.

Li Shen gathered his thoughts for a moment before he said simply.

“In the Four Physical Realms of cultivation, the strength of Internal cultivation methods are classified into Low-Tier, Mid-Tier, High-Tier, and Peak-Tier. However, going further into the Soul Realms the nature of them changes, with people now able to use their cultivated Internal Qi to cast Daoist Magic spells and Divine Abilities.

"So due to their increase in strength and change in nature, their classification of power becomes tied with each subsequent cultivation realm, with several factors as a criteria. The main one being the speed of Qi absorption the cultivation method is able to achieve.”

As Li Shen spoke, everyone was quiet but they all thought in their hearts that this was common knowledge to every cultivator.

Seeing their looks, Li Shen smiled and said.

“I wanted to show the contrasting strength of those and a Legacy Cultivation Method, so with that established, a Legacy Cultivation Method is one that follows none of these criteria of classification.”

A slight frown appeared on Yang Su, Fei Yin, Jun, and Fang Chen’s faces. However, Fei Yin suddenly understood what that meant and he showed a shocked expression before he turned to Li Shen and asked.

“So does that mean it can be cultivated by anyone at any cultivation level?”

Yang Su, Jun, and Fang Chen hearing that was surprised and turned to Li Shen to see him nod.

“That’s the uniqueness of Legacy Cultivation Methods, they’re so versatile in nature and well created that someone in the Qi Condensation Realm can cultivate it up to the Core Formation Realm.”

It wasn’t like it was impossible for a Foundation Realm cultivator to cultivate a Core Formation level cultivation method, but the gap Li Shen just mention made it hard for them to believe cultivation methods like those existed in the cultivation world.

One could cultivate from the Qi Condensation Realm all the way to break through to the Nascent Soul Realm with just one cultivation method.

No matter how one looked at it anyone would kill to have such a cultivation method. Not having to suffer the fear of reaching the end of a major realm but was unable to progress further because of the lack of a higher-level cultivation method.

As for cultivation methods that are able to continue to other realms, those are usually in the cultivation institutions, inaccessible to outside cultivators. Though even their disciples fear cultivating those sub par methods, since if that cultivation method happens to become incompatible with their bodies later, they’ll die of regret.

Instead of being stuck in a rigid path, they’d rather have the opportunity to possibly change cultivation methods if necessary to follow their body's change in requirements.

Li Shen explained that Legacy Cultivation Methods didn’t have the disadvantages that ordinary continuing cultivation methods have, since cultivating them from early on would change a person’s body over time to be comparable with it.

Yang Su and the others were getting more and more surprised by these types of cultivation methods, and the thought of having one couldn’t help but surface in their hearts. But it was when those thoughts were swirling around in their heads, that Li Shen pointed out the drawback of those cultivation methods.

“However, there’s a downside. Those Legacy Cultivation Methods use a simple Qi circulation method to have its versatility. It means that powerful cultivation methods of that nature can be stolen quite easily.”

After saying that, Li Shen turned to Mu Fan and said.

“You should have told me sooner, why take all those beatings?”

Mu Fan wore an indignant expression.

The others didn’t understand his words, so Li Shen explained.

“Because of their simple nature and immeasurable value, the cultivators who cultivate them always swear a blood oath to never reveal anything about its cultivation process. That’s why they're called Legacy Cultivation Methods, because it’s strictly passed down in Clans, or simpler, from Master to disciple for several generations. With them only appearing once in every generation.”

Everyone turned to look at Mu Fan, his chest was puffed out with a wide grin on his face.

Not only was he now considered the strongest of them, but he also had a cultivation method many youths in this generation dream of having to boot.

Jun immediately snorted.

“The hell are you so prideful about? How can some Legacy Cultivation Method be greater than the one Master made for me and senior disciple brother?”

Mu Fan's smugness deflated somewhat as he turned to glare at Jun.

As if he had been triggered Fang Chen suddenly spoke up.

“My Blood-Bound cultivation method doesn’t lose out to any Foundation Realm cultivation method and could even match Core Formation Realm level ones as well.”

“My Zhi Clan’s Divine Tortoise cultivation method is a Quasi Legacy Technique.”

Suddenly having a whose cultivation method was better competition, Lihua drop that bombshell of a news.

Then, everyone’s attention turned to Fei Yin. He was the only one left, and Li Shen didn’t count of course.

Fei Yin seeing everyone’s attention turned on him, he wore a bitter smile as he said.

“What are you all waiting for? Are you forgetting I only ever cultivate a Sea Expansion Realm cultivation method? I can't switch it until I've break through to the Core Formation Realm.”

Haring that, the others all thought “oh that’s right.”

They had forgotten that Fei Yin was a monster who had somehow used a Sea Expansion Realm cultivation method to reach the late stage of the Foundation Realm.

Which was completely unheard of.

He must have worked himself and that cultivation to the bone, wringing out every possible ounce of potential that cultivation method and he had.

As for why that was the case, Fei Yin's answer was that he never knew about cultivation enough to know that it was required to upgrade the cultivation method after making a breakthrough into a major realm.

He just thought the drop in cultivation speed to a literal snail's pace after entering the Foundation Realm was just a part of cultivation. And yet, he had still managed to become known as having one of the fasting cultivation speed in the Inner Academy at the time, on top of having a Human Grade Innate talent.

Fei Yin, full name Wang Fei Yin, was an anomaly that the others and even Li Shen couldn’t explain. He broke several cultivation norms without even realizing it, and it was all through his sheer determination to get revenge.

With Fei Yin out of the picture, the others glance at each other, unwilling to back down on whose cultivation method was faster, better, and stronger.

Shaking his head at this, Li Shen then cleared his throat.

“All of your cultivation methods are equally great, no need for a competition.”

The group after a moment settle down upon hearing that, but Li Shen suddenly spoke up again.

“However, with that said, I’ve actually created both Yang Su and Jun’s cultivation methods using the same principles as a Legacy Cultivation Method, and have even improved upon them. Ehem.”

Jun’s eyes lit up and he turned to give Mu Fan a smug smirk, while Yang Su smile casually.

Lihua and Mu Fan glanced at Li Shen, displeased with his favoritism, but after revealing that information Li Shen avoided their gazes and turned to leave.

However, he paused, after which he took out a jade slip to read a message. Moments after, his expression suddenly turned grim.

The others seeing this and feeling the sudden gloominess that envelop the courtyard turned to him.

“I’m leaving, I’ll be back in a few days. Continue the missions without me.”

After saying that, Li Shen turned to enter the building.

Everyone looked at each other wondering what happen.

Mu Fan was the one who spoke up.

“He took the teleportation circle instead of just leaving the academy, I wonder who pissed him off, poor bastard.”

Meanwhile, inside the building, Li Shen wore a stone face expression as he was teleporting away. He could be heard mumbling under his breath seconds before.

“I don’t care who you are, you don’t make my little sister cry.”
