Li Shen’s body slowly drifted towards the floating Island that had the Kun Peng along with its wings outstretched above it.

It strangely wasn't being held up by anything and was simply hovering there in the air.

As Jun got closer his gaze never left the statue. He saw a twinkle in its eyes that for a second made him have the hallucination that it was alive.

Li Shen’s feet soon come to land on the floating island which itself was by no means small, but at the same time wasn't overly large as well.

Like the other islands, it consisted of main and side Palaces with numerous pavilions inside. Everything was pure golden in color, giving one the feeling that some celestial being wanted to show off its insurmountable wealth.

At the front, two large pillars were situated as if to welcome all visitors, but if one senses were sharp one could feel some sort of invisible force that was preventing anyone from entering.

It surrounded the entire island like a sleeping monstrosity was there guarding it. If force was used to enter it would awaken and obliterate the aggressor in body and soul

Li Shen held a serious expression as he lowered his hand for Jun to leap down. His gaze never left the two pillars.

He then took a seat and looked down at Jun.

“Are you ready?”

Jun nodded firmly but his heart was secretly beating rapidly against his chest. To say he wasn’t nervous was an understatement.

“Master, do you know what the test would be?”

Li Shen shook his head.

“I tested at the Vermilion Bird island but I’m not sure what this island test is. I had my affinity to Fire Qi tested and passed, however, on the second test I failed. But as to what the second test was I think it was my bloodline, I’m not entirely sure.”

Hearing Li Shen’s words, Jun’s hope of at least knowing what he was going to face was dashed as he seemed as knowledgeable about it as him.

Seeing Jun’s worrying emotions Li Shen spoke up.

“However, I have confidence that you will pass. The techniques you cultivate mimics that of a Kun Peng and with your Saint Physique you couldn’t be a better successor.”

“Successor?”

Jun looked up confused.

Li Shen had found it strange that such a place was here inside this dimension. So he used his Heavenly Eyes and discovered that the laws surrounding this place were completely different from the ones in the dimension itself.

This place was created by his Clan's Founding Ancestor, but this Avian Territory wasn’t. It seemed like it was put here having been brought in from somewhere.

And the weird thing was, there was no information about this place in his clan library, or at least Li Shen himself hadn’t read anything being mentioned. Only the training grounds itself.

All in all, this place gave the feel like it wasn't supposed to be here. Where it came from Li Shen didn’t know, and who knows about it, he didn’t know either.

Only Nascent realm clan members can enter here, but only when they had contributed greatly to the clan.

This might very well be a place that no one in the clan knows about. That was the only explanation Li Shen could come up with after looking at everything. Especially with the fact that only people who have received a specific item from the Guardians of a territory can be here.

Without it as soon as they passed the clouds they would only see an ordinary scenery.

Coupled with its hidden nature and the trials on each island, he concluded one other fact.

“This island, it’s an inheritance grounds. I say this place can return your cultivation because if you're able to acquire it then with the resources of such an inheritance, you could cultivate to reach your previous level or even beyond that.”

Jun was slightly taken aback by that, but as he lowered his head a feeling of determination gripped his entire being.

He took a deep breath before releasing it.

Li Shen seeing this, smiled before he opened his left palm. One of the origin leaves flew out to hover over Jun’s outstretched hands.

“All you have to do is walked forwards and present the leaf, after you enter you’ll be transported to a separate location where the tests will start.”

Jun nodded then turned around. He walked and came to a stop in front of the two pillars, that would take at least a hundred people to wrap around it and present the leaf as an offering. The monstrous force surrounding the island suddenly trembled along with the island itself.

The leaf in Jun’s had shone with bright golden rays, then as if a key was used to unlock a door, the monstrous force opened up a gap for him to enter.

Jun step forward but as he was about to enter, he glance back at Li Shen.

Li Shen simply shooed him to continue.

He then watched as Jun turned around and enter the gap. As soon as he passed the two golden pillars his figure vanished.

He wasn’t that worried about Jun’s safety, the tests themselves weren’t designed to be dangerous. However, Li Shen decided to wait for a moment. Though he was confident that this inheritance was practically tailored for Jun, he still couldn’t stop his doubtful thoughts.

Li Shen didn’t know what these inheritances were, or who created them if it wasn’t his Clan’s Founding Patriarch. But one thing he knew was that they were old.

As old as the God Era? No, he came to find out the place he grew up in his past life wasn’t merely millenniums ago but further back, way further back in time.

“The Seven Sins Goddess was kind of right. It’s almost as if this era was disconnected from the previous ones before it, albeit some things have spilled over from past eras. The Primordial Era…”

Li Shen paused here, the answer was obvious if one looked closely.

The Era Avarice, Li Shen’s past self had grown up in, was during a time when the God Domain had just formed. It was crazy to think this was the case, but everything led to this conclusion.

But something happened.

Something had made the era of worshiping Gods cease to exist. But what could have cause it when the Gods themselves wouldn't have allowed it?

But obviously, it wasn’t going to be so simple for him to piece together everything, because a major wrench was stuck in this theory.

If the God Era was a time during the beginning of the God Domain, then based on the fact that this Era was so different that even the structure of the universe was nothing similar; the change would need an incalculable amount of years to form.

If it was so long ago then…

“Why did I find the Fire God's hand inside that volcano trapped within runes from the Water God Temple?”

This had stumped Li Shen ever since he suspected the scope of how far back the God Era was.

But then came the Primordial Era.

The Era he read about Gods roaming the heavens and enforcing their wills on the Mortal Plane. He thought it was the God Era but the concept of clans wasn’t invented.

“The only conclusion I can come to is that the hand didn’t belong to the Fire God. But the runes used to seal it were exact replicas of the runes in the Water God Temple, so how can it not be from the God Era? Did the runes survive to be passed down to Qi Cultivators in the Primordial Era? No, but then whose hand is that and who was the one who entrap it?? Did the Fire God and Water God themselves survive up until the Primordial Era then??? If so, then why do I feel like I could become the Heir to their Heavenly Laws???? They're obviously dead then, but how did they die????? I- Urgh!!”

Li Shen suddenly grabbed his knees and let out a frustrated groan.

'So many goddamn questions but no answers!'

And then there was the fact that he found runes in the Bai Clan that were from the God Era, albeit they had been turned into atrocities. Also, there was the strange energy that didn’t belong to the God Domain, Demonic Qi.

There was something connecting all of this. It might seem jumbled up and confusing, but he was sure an explanation for everything was out there to be discovered. A single event that spawn all of this.

Li Shen hadn’t lost the drive to figure that out. If anything, the longer he went without knowing, the more eager he was to find out.

His first step on that path was to get inside the Hidden Fragmented Realm to see if such a place had any relation to the God Era, but asides from it being no show, which was in and of itself quite strange, he had a strong feeling that it was more likely related to the Primordial Era.

Li Shen released a sigh before he looked up at the two stone pillars.

“It been about three hours since he entered, he might have succeeded. Whelp…”

Li Shen then slowly got up and stretched a little.

“Time to take my own tests, but which one should I choose?”

Li Shen floated up and his eye moved from the Phoenix and Vermilion Bird Island to stop on the Dragon Island. His eyes flickered as they landed on it.

“The main reason why I was confident Jun would pass was that the Unique Qi I sensed inside was similar to his Righteous Qi. Asides from the Vermilion Bird and the Phoenix island, the Dragon island is the only other one that has a Unique Qi source. It’s not the same as the one I adsorbed from that person, his was pure while this one is diluted and artificial. Though if it worked for one, I’m hoping it would work for the other.”

Li Shen said as he flew towards the Dragon Island. He couldn’t contain the joy he was feeling.

Finally, after almost three years of stagnant cultivation because of that gluttonous thing, he would finally feel what it was like to cultivate again!

Li Shen almost felt like crying, he had suffered through so much.

But at the same time, he couldn’t stop the wide grin that was slowly making its way onto his face.
