Chapter 468 465- More Scheming

While carrying this resentment, Li Shen’s figure was moving so fast that the flee Mo Zhe actually appeared in front of him.

“Hm?”

Mo Zhe who had slowed down since Li Shen wasn’t chasing after him, turned when he heard the loud whistling noise behind him.

His pupils immediately shrank when he saw Li Shen and his speed picked up as he frantically tried to escape faster.

However, Li Shen was just too fast. He was barely visible over the horizon when Mo Zhe first saw him, but in only a few seconds he was a few hundred meters away from him!

“Damn it! How is he so fast? Is he actually at the late stage of the Core Formation Realm?!”

Li Shen's flying speed was at the very least in the Late Core Formation Realm while Mo Zhe was only in the Mid Core Formation Realm.

He knew he was too slow to run away from Li Shen.

Hit with this reality, Mo Zhe turned and decided to confront Li Shen head-on. Even if he died here he would try and take Li Shen down with him!

However, what Mo Zhe saw when he turned made his heart shake and all thoughts of fighting vanish from his mind.

Li Shen was like a shooting star.

Metaphorically as well as literally.

Around him were several black stars that obscure his figure in their luminescent dark glow. Li Shen's eyes also contained these black stars making his gaze seem profound and mysterious.

Li Shen resembled a star as he activated his Chaos Spiritual Physique to its full capacity.

His speed and strength multiplied several folds, so much so that when he punched out towards Mo Zhe, despite having several tens of meters between them, the force produced by his fist caused fissures to appear in the void before colliding with Mo Zhe’s body; which directly exploded into a gory mess of flesh and blood.

Li Shen didn’t even pause as he flew threw Mo Zhe’s body which was a bloody mist towards the rest of his human sacrifice.

Meanwhile, this was happening, a meeting was occurring in the outside world between the two existences that surpass the Soul Transformation Realm.

Inside a room on the ship that carried the first disciples from the Fire Empire to the Star Bound Continent, Monarch Gu could be seen sitting on a chair while his hand rested on his cane.

Suddenly, the room temperature dropped to a freezing level causing frost to appear on the walls.

Snort.

Monarch Gu slightly snorted in displeasure, before releasing a fiery aura that easily melted the frost on the walls and returned the room to its normal temperature.

“What is the reason for your visit, Empress Mai Ning?”

Without so much as a fluctuation, a woman wearing a blue dress while having a blue veil over her face appeared in front of Monarch Gu.

“I come to request an explanation.”

“Explanation? I’m afraid I don’t know what you mean Empress Mai.”

“You rioting old man, don’t play dumb with me! The Chosen Tournament hasn’t even started for less than a minute and my disciples are already coming back in droves with severe injuries. Some even said that others had been murdered, and it was all done by your disciples!”

“Haha, it seems in all these years you’re temper has not changed. Aren’t we the cultivators who cultivate Fire Qi supposed to be the ones with a hot temper?”

Monarch Gu laughed as he said that. However, Mai Ning only released a threatening aura she growled.

“Don’t change the subject, what are you planning by killing my disciples, are you trying to start a losing war against my Water Empire?”

Monarch Gu finally opened his eyes and glanced at Mai Ning.

“Your disciples aren’t the only ones coming back injured, so are the disciples from other continents.”

Hearing this, Mai Ning erupted in anger.

“You-Are you still going to deny it?! I have already been told by my disciples of how they were teleported to a Fiery Dimension that lacks any other Spiritual Qi apart from Fire Qi, as well as the fact that upon entering, it seemed like your disciples have been waiting in ambush! Don’t go overboard, or else you’ll regret your actions today.”

“Ho? Are you threatening me?”

Monarch Gu met eyes with Mai Ning's own behind her veil, and suddenly, the large ship they were in started to emit cracking noises like it was a second away from succumbing to the pressure of these two powerful individuals.

It was only when a few breaths worth of time passed that Mai Ning clicked her tongue and looked away.

“Don't underestimate our Water Empire, we know how desperate you are since the other Monarchs have left leaving you alone.”

Monarch Gu had a slight change in his expression when he heard that, and though he tried to hide it, Mai Ning caught it and she sneered.

“If you think that’s all we know then I hope you die from shock when we get our hands on the God Qi inside of the Hidden Fragmented Realm before you.”

Monarch Gu this time couldn’t hide the ugly expression that appeared on his face, and Mai Ning released an uproarious laugh that echoed in the room even as she teleportation away.

It was obvious that her emotions of anger just now were fake, and had been a ploy to gauge Monarch Gu’s reaction.

“No wonder she order the creation of so many Nascent Realm Formation array disks, I even suspect the disciples she sent inside the Fiery Dimension to be disposable pawns. This woman, she’s as cunning as ever.”

Despite the revelation that his plans had been seen through by Mai Ning, Monarch Gu didn’t show seemed to be overly concerned.

It seemed like all was still going according to his plans.

Soon after, Monarch Gu took out a jade slip from his robes and sent a message. After doing that, he placed back the jade slip into his robes before closing his eyes.

“With the help of that Clan’s map, Jin’er will be able to reach the source of the God Qi before anyone when the Feriy Dimension is saturated and the Hidden Fragmented Realm opens. Looks like they’re turning out to be more useful than I had initially anticipated. However, I should make sure to eradicate them after they’ve outlasted their usefulness. I find it absurd that they even possess such a detailed map, let alone what their Patriarch is planning.”

Monarch Gu was cautious of Ghuanyu, but one could tell he didn’t place his schemes in his eyes from the very fact that he didn’t even bother to remember Ghuangyu's name or even the name of the Ming Clan.

Though perhaps he should have since the Ming Clan had once been called the Ancient Saber God Clan.

Among the three Ancient Clans that fell after the war inside the Hidden Fragmented Realm, and the original Acinet Clans migrated, they were one of them.

But the fact that they were still around even after supposedly falling from grace and even losing their Saber God Blooding, they are still around.

The powers that Monarch Gu and even Mai Ning were looking down upon as they scheme and plot against each other, might just be more than they can handle when the time comes to cast them aside.
